•D2450. Pair of Miniature Models of Recumbent Rabbits and a Pair of Miniature Standing Cockerels

A rare pair of recumbent naturalistically modelled rabbits, one painted in blue on a shaped green plinth, one with a blue and white body with manganese eyes, eyebrows and whiskers, the pair of polychrome standing cockerels are modeled with their heads turned slightly to the left, one is standing on a green shaped ground, decorated with yellow and manganese wings on a white body, a manganese tail, eyes and beak crowned with a red comb, the other is blue and white with manganese accents on the wings, tail and eyes under a red comb.

SIMILAR EXAMPLE
A similar miniature cockerel is part of the collection of Museum Arnhem, with inv. no. AB 8580. Another similar cockerel figurine, then, in a private Lille collection, is depicted in Boyazoglu, 1983, p. 119. A pair of rabbits apparently from the same molds, but with a different decoration, have been sold as part of lot 114 at Sotheby’s in the Morpurgo collection sale on November 8, 2018.
