D2086. Blue and White Plaque

Delft, circa 1750

Painted with an ice skater lying on his back with his hat behind him on the ice, before four young men skating, and on the right a men playing a bagpipe in front of a so-called ‘koek en zopie’ tent besides table with a wine glass, pipes and jars.; the self-molded frame with a diaper work border interrupted at the top, bottom and sides with a panel with a floral device, the top surmounted by a fan-shaped fluted pediment pierced with a circular suspension hole, the reverse glazed.
