D1953. Pair of Polychrome Bird Tureens and Covers

Delft, circa 1770

The cover modeled as a bird with manganese-delineated yellow plumage, a manganese head and yellow beak, and a fan-shaped tail accentuated in orange, perched amidst flowering branches, the branches and the oval tureen molded with stylized flowers picked out in yellow and with leaves in shades of green.

Heights: 14.2 cm. (5.5 in.)
