Delft, circa 1740
The spherical body painted with a continuous scene of four birds perched on flowering chrysanthemum branches, above a trellis-diaper border with leaf and scroll decoration, the cylindrical blue-ground neck pierced with a band of oral and foliate scroll ornaments, encircled with a tube painted with beribboned decoration with three bulbous nozzles and continuing into the spine of the hollow looped handle between a row of scrolls and dots on either side.
