Delft, circa 1725 Wearing a yellow headdress, blue shoes and a coat with billowing sleeves over a green-sashed robe, all patterned with iron-red blossoms, scrolls and dots and shaded in blue, and modeled holding a blue beaker in his right hand, his left resting on his portly belly, and standing on a chamfered square base dashed in iron-red. Delft, circa 1710 Unidentified IW mark in blue, probably for Theodorus (called Dirck) Witsenburgh, the owner of De Witte Ster (The White Star) factory from 1690 until his death in 1700, and then used presumably by his family as owners until 1705 Painted boldly around the body with four scaly dragons against a ground of entangled flowering vines continuing onto the cover, its slightly domed top with a single dragon amidst the vines. Delft, circa 1710 Marked LVE 1 1 in blue for Lambertus van Eenhoorn, the owner of De Metaale Pot (The Metal Pot) factory from 1691 until 1721, or his widow Margaretha Teckmann until 1724 Painted in the center with two coats of arms, one with a half moon and a lion’s head and neck, beneath a helmet and a crown surmounted by the crest of a lion’s head and a half moon; the other with a mermaid beneath a helmet surmounted by a mermaid, issuing elaborate foliate mantling, below inscribed with the family names Coijet. and Van Loo, encircled by a foliate scroll work band, the rim with a blue-ground border reserved with floral scrollwork. Diameter 25.8 cm. (10.2 in.)

Delft, circa 1760 Marked with an axe in blue for De Porceleyne Byl (The Porcelain Axe) factory Painted in the center with peonies and other flowering plants growing around a pierced rock, the fluted rim with meander work reserved with four panels with an exotic bird standing near a pagoda, its lower edge with a neck notch, and its left side with an oval depression for the shaving ball, the foot rim pierced with two holes for suspension. Delft, circa 1760 Each butter tub of octagonal form and painted in the Kakiemon palette on the front and reverse with birds perched on branches, repeated on the cover within a border of scrolls and the finial shaped as a reclining figure, the stands with the same decoration of birds perched on branches within a scrollwork border encircled with floral sprigs.
