Painted in the center with a large garden urn, filled with a variety of flowers in blue, yellow, iron-red and manganese, flanked by two seated Chinese figures wearing yellow trousers and manganese jackets, the rim lushly decorated in iron-red, green, manganese, blue and yellow with flowers amongst green leaves and scrollwork.

Notes
The central image of a floral vase is often applied on plaques, plates and dishes. The Delftware painter had to skillfully adapt the design to the circular form of tableware. On this plate, the garden vase is arranged so that the bouquet occupies almost exactly half the space. By painting the two little Chinese figures that flank the vase, the otherwise blank space is filled very naturally.
