‘First “green” stand at TEFAF ... Sustainability is a hot topic these days. TEFAF also wants to play its part in efforts to protect the planet and above all promote the careful use of energy resources. Antiques dealer Robert Aronson from Amsterdam will have a “green” stand at the fair. ... This year, Aronson will be using LED lighting in the display cabinets instead of the usual halogen lamps. The 54 cabinets will have 1300 LED lamps. Although that is far more than the number of halogen lamps he previously used in each cabinet, Aronson will use 80% less energy with the LED lamps. “The LED lamps also generate less heat, so the air conditioning for the stand can be turned down,” Aronson explained. ...’
